Major Lane Shift Begins Along Interstate 30 Near Downtown Dallas

Drivers need to know about a big change in how they navigate the downtown Dallas interstates.

Starting Saturday, the exit from eastbound Interstate 30 to northbound Interstate 35E is shifting to the right-hand lane.

That's a big change, because until now that exit has always been on the left.

Drivers continuing on eastbound I-30 will now use the left-hand lanes instead of the right-hand lanes. Access to southbound I-35E and Riverfront Boulevard will continue to be in the far right-hand lane.

It means drivers continuing on eastbound I-30 will now use the left-hand lanes instead of the right-hand lanes. Access to southbound I-35E and Riverfront Boulevard will continue to be in the far right-hand lane.

The changes are part of the Horseshoe Project that is scheduled for completion in about two years.

The Texas Department of Transportation created a YouTube video explaining the I-30 lane changes in depth.
