Ice on Bridges, Overpasses Contribute to Several Crashes Sunday

Dallas authorities say ice on overpasses and bridges contributed to several crashes Sunday morning.

Dallas Fire-Rescue said black ice and fog were factors on Interstate 45 at Lamar Street where an accident shutdown all but one lane early Sunday morning. Wreckers cleared the area at around 8 a.m.

Dallas Sheriff's Office said it shut down the four ramps to and from Interstate 20 at Spur 408 until sand trucks can make the area passable.

Deputies were called out for an accident on the ramps in southern Dallas. At least four vehicles were involved. Dallas Fire-Rescue confirms there were icy patches on the overpass.

A Dallas Fire-Rescue truck is blocking the Interstate 20 eastbound ramp to southbound M.D. Love freeway due to an accident on the ramp and icy patches.

And another accident was reported on the southbound U.S. 67/M.D. Love Freeway ramp to westbound I-20, which is also closed, Dallas Fire-Rescue confirms there is ice on the bridge there.
