IH35E Back Open After 2 Accidents in Denton

Traffic came to a stop on Interstate 35E for some time Tuesday after accidents shut down several lanes in Denton.

At 1:24 pm the Denton Police responded to the 600 block of I-35E for a car wedged under a semi in the south-bound lanes. Officer Shane Kizer says they had to shut down both lanes of traffic while the person in the car was removed and sent to Denton Regional Medical Center for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Kizer says shortly after an accident occurred between 2 passenger vehicles in the northbound lanes on the same block.

Responding officers had to shut down both lanes in the north-bound side to clear out the accident.

Two people were transported to Denton Presbyterian Hospital with unknown injuries.

A Hazmat team was called in to clear some fuel on the road from one of the vehicles.

Police say both accidents have been cleared and traffic is moving normally again.
