I-35 South of Waco Reopened After Police Activity

All lanes of Interstate 35 have reopened south of Waco after a police situation forced the highway to shutdown Saturday morning.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says troopers were assisting the Lorena Police Department with a traffic stop that turned into a possible suicide attempt.

The interstate and the service roads were shutdown at mile marker 322 for a short time.

No other details were available.

Just before 11 a.m., the Texas Department of Transportation reported the situation was resolved and the highway was reopened, but traffic was backed up for several miles and would take some time to clear.
