Residents say something needs to be about the extra traffic in a fast-growing, once-quiet Flower Mound neighborhood.
Over the past few years, Sagebrush Drive has become a direct path for many to get to Flower Mound High School, but the stretch is only a narrow, unmarked two-lane road.
Mark Tuttle and his neighbors have approached town leadership about the problem, saying their small street is simply overloaded during certain times of the day.
"In the morning, it's hard to get out of the driveway and, in the afternoon, it's hard to get out of the driveway," he said. "We've counted 13 to 15 buses on this street and when they go side-by-side, they have to kind of go away from each other or their mirrors will clip."
The town is aware of the problem but town leaders say it could take some time to fix.
Flower Mound spokeswoman Molly Fox said the town is working to launch a traffic study to figure out the best way to deal with the increased school traffic. It could likely mean widening or extending the road, she said.
Tuttle said he knows the street needs to be changed but fears it could lead to even faster traffic speeds in an area where children like his play.

"You know, we'll take the growing pains -- the good with the bad," he said with a shrug.
The town will increase the police presence in the area and closely monitor traffic speeds until a solution is found, Fox said.
Once the town has a plan, it will bring it before the neighborhood before taking action, she said.
