East Expansion of Bush Tollway Opens

New corridor runs east from Garland to Sachse and Rowlett

A tollway extension in the Dallas area has opened as a new east-side link to Interstate 30.

The North Texas Tollway Authority late Wednesday opened the President George Bush Turnpike eastern extension from northwest Garland.

Construction on the $958 million project began in the summer of 2008.

NTTA says the nearly 10-mile eastern extension is part of the outer loop around Dallas and its suburbs. The corridor runs through Garland, Sachse and Rowlett.
