Semi Rollover Blocks EB I-30 Lanes in Mesquite

Crews must remove 30,000 pounds of engine parts before the truck can be moved

The driver of an 18-wheeler is unhurt after his big rig flipped on eastbound Interstate 30 in Mesquite Friday morning.

According to police, the driver was entering I-30 from I-635 and swerved to miss a car at about 3:45 a.m. He lost control and flipped the truck.

A tow truck operator on the scene said the 30,000 pounds of engine parts had to be removed before the truck can be moved.

That wreck has eastbound I-30 closed at I-635.

The truck was cleared and lanes reopened about 8:15 a.m.
