Expect delays through downtown Dallas this weekend. Thatโs because work is underway on the Woodall Rodgers Freeway.
Itโs all part of the park project above the freeway. The lanes will be closed while contractors work to fireproof the beams below the park.
The $110 million project is on track to be completed this upcoming Fall. The Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation says the park will bring vibrancy to downtown and improve the quality of life.
While this closure is a big headache for drivers, those in downtown say itโs worth it. โItโs a give and take, even with 635, we have to deal with lane closures in order to get something,โ said Damita King.
โI think itโs fantastic for the city, itโs a little bit of an inconvenience with the construction, but going to be a wonderful multi venue park for all,โ added Norlynn Price.
There is no exact date set for completion, but it is on track, according to the foundation.
