DART, The T and DCTA are joining forces to encourage ridership in North Texas.

DART, The T and DCTA are working together to entice people to try mass transit in North Texas, for free.

Anyone can get a week of free rides by exchanging a receipt for gasoline for the transit pass.

The pass will be good for the week of June 18-23 and is the local version of the American Public Transportation Association's Dump the Pump Campaign and is designed to not only encourage mass transit use, but to compare the cost of commuting in a car with mass transit.

The $10 weekly passes are good for any DART, T or DCTA fixed route service and includes access to all DART, T and DCTA bus and train services, including the Trinity Railway Express.

Using data from AAA, APTA researchers determined that North Texas commuters who switch to the region's transit network may save more than $9,000 in the annual cost of driving to work.

Transit passes can be exchanged for receipts beginning June 8 and at several locations (listed below).
