DART Adds Trains for St. Patrick's Day Parade

Orange, Red lines adding trains for St. Patrick's Parade

Dallas Area Rapid Transit is changing some train and bus schedules to accomodate revelers heading to Dallas' annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.

DART said they'll begin 10-minute rail service southbound out of the Parker Road Station and northbound out of the West End Station for riders heading to Greenville Avenue via the Mockingbird or Lovers Lane stations Saturday morning.

Riders can get to the Mockingbird Station on the Red, Blue and Orange lines and the Lovers Lane Station on the Red and Orange lines, though buses will not be running from Lovers Lane due to the parade and detours for bus routes 1, 428, 502 and 583.

DART added there will be additional Red Line trains to the Westmoreland and Parker Road stations and Orange Line trains to the Belt Line and Parker Road stations to accommodate parade traffic on Saturday.

Riders coming in from Tarrant County can transfer to the Orange Line from the TRE at Victory Station.

DART will have additional staff at key stations on Saturday to help riders.  Day passes, for $5, offer unlimited rides on the date of purchase.

This year's parade is at 11 a.m. on March 16.  The parade runs along Greenville Avenue between Wellon Street and SMU Boulevard.
