Boom Lift Topples Over on Dallas North Tollway

All lanes of the Dallas North Tollway have reopened at Interstate 635, near Galleria Dallas, after crews finished repair work to the concrete median after a previous crash Thursday.

An 18-wheeler carrying a boom lift toppled over, shutting down the northbound lanes of the tollway, at about 12:30 p.m. Two lanes on the southbound side of the tollway were also closed.

Officials confirm to NBC 5 that the semi came around the curve on the northbound side of the tollway, lost control and slammed into the center barrier, pushing it into the southbound lanes and then overturned.

No one was injured.

Crews righted the truck and boom lift, cleaned up spilled fuel and repaired the center barrier before reopening the tollway at about 6:15 p.m.

Traffic was backed up for miles for much of the afternoon and evening rush hour.
