Bomb Threats Investigated on TRE Train

Two trains swept after threats

Irving Police and DART police are investigating bomb threats affecting two Trinity Railway Express trains.  No arrests have been made.

Irving Police told NBC 5 that the threats were called in around 8:40 Saturday evening.  Trains at the West Irving and the Centreport/DFW Airport stations were stopped and passengers evacuated to nearby parking lots.

DART/TRE Public Information Officer Morgan Lyons said two people were injured exiting the trains at the Centreport/DFW Airport station.  One person hurt their ankle but refused treatment at the scene. The other aggravated a pre-existing back injury and was taken to the hospital.

NBC 5 viewer Danielle Travis emailed a picture of the stopped train at the Centreport/DFW Airport station.  She said she was able to call friends to pick her up so she wasn't stranded.

No explosives were found. Both trains were cleared to operate again by 10:10 p.m.
