    One person was killed and another injured in a crash involving three vehicles on Interstate 35W in Fort Worth Thursday morning. (Published Thursday, July 21, 2016)

    One person was killed and another injured in a crash involving a tow truck carrying a disabled vehicle along Interstate 35W in Fort Worth Thursday morning.

    Fort Worth police said the driver of the flatbed tow truck was headed southbound on I-35W near Sycamore Road when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a concerete barrier at about 11 a.m.

    The collison sent the disabled vehicle into the tow truck's cab, crushing it as the vehicle came to rest on top of the concrete barrier.

    There were two men inside of the tow truck's cab, injuring one and killing the other, according to MedStar EMS. Officials have not said whether it was the driver or passenger killed and no names have been released.

    The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

    Freeway traffic on southbound I-35W is reduced to one lane while the crash is cleared Thursday afternoon.
