Time was, you'd have to run to half a dozen stores to get holiday gifts, decorations, toys, apparel, jewelry, candles, books and other items to cross off your shopping list. This year, save the trips and just get out to the Dallas Sample Sale.

All of the above listed items, plus manufacturer samples at discounted prices, will line the aisles of Dallas Market Hall from Thursday through Sunday.

New this year is a preview night on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., offering an early chance to grab some great deals. It costs $20 at the door to get into the preview event, but you can get a discount through Groupon.

Beyond the great shopping deals, there are daily prize drawings, live entertainment and a cash bar to help you get into the holiday spirit(s).

If you're feeling charitable, the Salvation Army is also launching its Angel Tree holiday project for families in need at the event.

The event is open to the public on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free at any time other than the preview event.

For more information, including driving directions, and parking maps, head to the Dallas Market Hall's Sample Sale website.

NBC 5 and NBCDFW are media sponsors of the Salvation Army Angel Tree project.
