Southwest Slashes Fares for Fall, Winter Travel

    Wanna get away?

    Dallas-based Southwest Airlines is slashing fares and offering tickets for as low as $59 each way to cities like Austin and Little Rock.  Fares to other cities out of Dallas, such as St. Louis, are only $71 each way. 

    Tickets must be purchased by Oct. 15 for travel between Oct. 13 and Feb. 11.  A 14-day advance purchase is required.

    There are certain restrictions and blackout dates -- including traveling on Friday and Sunday. The airline said seats are very limited and won’t be available on some flights between Nov. 24 - Dec. 1, and Dec. 17 - Jan. 3, 2010, especially to popular destinations such as Florida and Las Vegas.
