With less than a week before Christmas day, holiday shoppers packed stores hoping to get everything they need in time.  Shoppers filled Northpark Center all day long on Saturday.

"I was very surprised to see this many people, but the sales are great," said holiday shopper, Sara Anderson.

Even getting into the parking lots proved to be a difficult task for many.

"Oh the parking lot was hard to get in," said Leticia Diaz. holiday shopper.  "We waited at least an hour for parking."

The crowds took some by surprise.

"We thought because of the economy, we didn't think it was going to be so much shopping. But I guess people are shopping," said Diaz.

Shoppers like Diaz and Anderson were looking to cross everything off of their holiday shopping lists.

"I was just telling my son how many more I still needed to buy," said Anderson.

"About eight more presents," said Diaz.  "I did everything at the last minute."

No one could be happier about the crowds of shoppers than mall retailers this weekend.

"Its been so busy," said Shauna Craven, store manager at Peek... Aren't You Curious.  "We're actually way above our numbers from last year."

"The lines have been long I think because the sales are good," said Anderson.  "And they're giving you incentives to come back in January."

But some retailers warn, buyer beware.  What you see today may be gone tomorrow.

"The amount of inventory the stores have is dwindling and dwindling quickly because stores didn't buy as much and were planning for the season not to quite be what they thought it would be," said Craven.  "So get in and get it."

Some retailers expect crowds to pack their stores well into the week of Christmas.
