Just Jewel It

Need some advice on what bling is best for Fall? We spoke to hometown jewelry designer Alli Dunn for her take on what'll be hot as the temperatures cool.

"As far as fall jewelry trends, I love the organic influences, and in my own work I'm doing lots of very tiny, delicate pieces with greys, greens, and garnets mixed with gold and milagros," Dunn said of what she has in store for her fall collection for E. Allison Jewelry.

Founded by the Dallas designer in 2003, the eclectic pieces in her line are perfectly on-trend for a season in which layering is everywhere for clothing and jewelry.

Though most of her charms dangle from fine chains or thin, loose links -- the edgy milagros and skull adornments keep them from seeming too sweet. We love the necklaces done with multiple charms, especially the carved jade and agate stones -- and we absolutely must have the minimalist, gold circle earrings to wear for daytime with our camel and olive cashmere for fall.

Other elements Dunn is loving for this season?

"I'm using some hand-carved wood from east Texas. Anything that mixes the high with the low; sparkly stones with wood . . . and there are some beautiful carved horn and bone pieces out  there," said Dunn.

As to what specific designers she craves and is influenced by right now, Dunn said, "I covet a diamond-surrounded geode from Kimberly McDonald!"
