Two local malls are set to be updated in the next year.

Denton city council signed off on a $9.5 million deal to renovate Golden Triangle Mall.

The council unanimously approved the incentive agreement with two Dallas companies which will buy and then spruce up the mall off I-35E and Loop 288.

The renovations are expected to wrap up Fall of 2012.

The Parks Mall in Arlington will also be getting a face lift.

The Star-Telegram reports the multi-million-dollar project includes new paint, lighting, flooring and an improved food court.

The Parks Mall is owned by General Growth Properties, the same company that owns Hulen mall in Fort Worth.
