Saturdays and Sundays at 11:45 a.m. and 4:15 p.m., the Legends of Texas Gunfight Shows take place at Stockyards Station in Fort Worth. The shows are free and attendees can learn about about the history of this part of North Texas between 1835 and the early 1900s.

The Theatre Communications Group is offering Free Nights of Theater. The City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs announced the Free Night of Theater will be held from Thursday, Oct. 8 through Sunday, Nov. 8. featuring more than 2,000 free tickets to more than 25 Dallas-area theaters. Tickets will be released in a staggered format with each weekend's ticket allotment being released on the Monday prior to the performance. Theatergoers can reserve tickets through the Free Night of Theater Web site here beginning at noon on Monday, Oct. 5. The Fort Worth Library celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with its "Ugly Betty Poncho Party." You'll be able to decorate your own personalized poncho Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the Riverside branch on Yucca Ave. More information here.

The City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs is presenting the second annual Free Night of Theater from Oct. 8 – Nov. 8.
