Glenn Beck Confirms Dallas Move

Former Fox News Channel personality Glenn Beck is bound for Texas.

Beck confirmed rumors on Monday that he's relocating his family to the Dallas area, where his media company is building a new television and radio studio.

Beck is starting a new online network, GBTV, on which he will beam a two-hour program each evening starting in late summer. He's also continuing his syndicated radio show.

The president of Beck's company, Mercury Radio Arts, says the move doesn't mean the company will be abandoning its studio and offices in New York.

Real estate blogger Candy Evans reported Beck and family leased a Westlake home previously owned by Jorge and Vanessa Piedre late last month. NBCDFW's Open House blog took a look inside that property in this gallery.

Beck doubled the ratings at his time slot almost immediately after joining Fox in January 2009. But critics persuaded advertisers to boycott his show last summer after he said President Barack Obama had "a deep-seated hatred for white people." Beck's last show was in June.
