The Dallas Morning News has an interesting article on the topic of "home swapping." In short, it's kind of an "I'll buy yours if you'll buy mine" agreement that more and more north Texans are getting involved in.
Multiple websites have sprung up to facilitate the swapping; Craigslist has a "housing swap" category and goswap.com recently reported 2,000 swap listings.
