Now that Troy Aikman needs to trade in the family-man house for a bachelor pad, his Highland Park hou… mansion is on the market.

It might be had at quite the bargain price because, according to this morning’s Dallas Morning News, it initially listed for $27 million and already has come down to $24 million.

The hou… mansion includes more than 10,000 square feet, five bedrooms — surely one could be used as an office — six bathrooms, three fireplaces, a four-car garage, and is nestled — like anything 10,000 square feet can be “nestled” — on about 1.5 acres of double-lot along Highland Drive.

The Dallas County Appraisal District values the abode at $7.37 million, so the buyer might pay a little more upfront but will recoup that amount during the coming years by paying less in property taxes, so sweet, huh?

Wait a minute, a house carrying a market value of more than $20 million is valued at considerably less than half that for taxing purposes? Geez, no wonder Dallas County is damn near broke.
