Worth The Drive: Burton Cotton Gin

Situated in the center of the rolling hills of Washington and Fayette Counties, Burton is also home to the oldest working cotton gin in the nation. The historic Burton Cotton Gin & Museum was built in 1914 in the small rural German community.Thousands of visitors make the drive halfway between Houston and Austin on Hwy 290 to the cotton gin.
