But we can. Below, our handy chart telling you just how fattening your Thanksgiving meal could be. Doesn't have to be! But now you know. And knowing's half the waistline.

No seriously: read this, make healthy choices, be less unnattractive. Each foodstuff is linked to additional nutritional information.

And if you're not eating exactly what's below, use this handy Thanksgiving meal calorie counter. It's on the internet. Which means it's reliable. And truthy-ish.

Roasted Turkey
3 ounce serving: 140 calories, 4 grams of fat

Tip:  Try skipping the dark meat and trimming off any skin or fat.  It could save you more than 100 calories per serving.

Giblet Gravy
1/4 cup: 128 calories, 5 grams of fat

Tip: Using a giblet-free recipe will have pretty much the same impact on your waistline -- while No-Drippings Gravy will save you 30 calories per serving.

Bread Stuffing
1 cup: 354 calories, 18 grams of fat

Cranberry Sauce
1 cup: 418 calories, 0 grams of fat

Tip: Switching to a homemade recipe with less sugar will save you nearly 200 calories.

Bread Roll
1 small square (2" x 2"): 78 calories, 2 grams of fat

Tip: One tbsp. of salted butter will cost you 100 calories and 11 grams of fat.  Using a fat-free butter substitute will substantially cut that number down to only five calories and zero grams of fat.

Sweet Corn
1 cup canned: 184 calories, 1 gram of fat

Tip: One ear of sweet corn -- without butter -- is only 83 calories.

Sweet Potatoes (Candied)
1 cup: 290 calories, 7 grams of fat

Tip:  Mashed potatoes prepared with whole milk (1 cup) are only 174 calories and 1 gram of fat.  Add margarine and the calorie count jumps up to 237 calories and nine grams of fat.

Green Bean Casserole
3/4 cup: 165 calories, 10 grams of fat

Tip:  1 cup of green beans = 44 calories, 0 grams of fat

Homemade Pumpkin Pie
1 slice (1/8 of 9" pie): 316 calories, 14 grams of fat

Tip: Skip the 2 tbsp. of whipped cream -- you'll avoid 50 calories and six grams of fat.

Egg Nog
1 cup: 343 calories and 19 grams of fat
