If you like the preppy trends that are everywhere this season, then you're going to love Norwegian clothing line, Kingsland. Think perfectly fitted polos, blazers, and breeches -- or in fashion speak, leggings -- that look evoke a classic, luxury leisure feel that's at home in the barn, on the court, or at the country club.

Kingsland is, after all, an apparel leader in equestrian sports; the brand's ambassadors include Olympic-level riders Edwina Alexander and Tony Andre Hansen. Yet, with their international roots, the only distributor for the US and Canada is right here in Carrollton, Texas.

Self-professed horse girls Deirdre and Erin Seeds recognized the demand for the Kingsland label and jumped at the chance to help them expand their stateside presence.

"Of course, riders love it; it's the coolest thing on the circuit right now. But there's this huge following of non-equestrians that have fallen in love with the line for it's high fashion appeal," said Deirdre Seeds, whose local shopping favs include Rich Hippie and Forty Five Ten.

Justin Resnik, a trainer at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center who counts designer John Varvatos as one of his favorites in addition to Kingsland said, "I wear the polos all the time, especially to the beach club or pool, and my girlfriend wears the red and navy breeches out with heels or boots. We get asked about those pieces constantly, everywhere we go."

Dallas native and enormously successful Grand Prix rider Erin Nelson is also a fan; she summed it up well; "It's so comfortable I could sleep in it, especially the fleece pieces."

Our picks are the khaki or navy breeches with black details that will be adorable with flat boots, the grey logo sweater, and the gorgeous tote bag to pack it all in.

And if you're a true equestrian, you have to buy the grosgrain trimmed, olive show breeches. You'll never put on another pair of Tailored Sportsmans again. Their velour track suits in are also a must after long days at the show grounds.

In search of Kingsland clothing? They retail locally at Quail Hollow Tack Shop and you can find them online through several retailers including Equestrian's Concierge.
