Modeling Legend Kim Dawson Dies at 85

Kim Dawson, the modeling industry legend that put Dallas on the fashion map, died Thursday due to complications from Alzheimer's disease.

In the 47 years since she started her famed modeling agency in Dallas, Dawson launched the careers of Angie Harmon, Janine Turner, Jerry Hall, and Erin Wasson, just to name a few. Her business acumen also broke the stranglehold Neiman Marcus had on Dallas models, who could only work exclusively for the retail giant.

Memorial service arrangements have not yet be finalized.
