August Alexander Flies High

Courtney Russell debuted the latest collection for his label, August Alexander, this weekend, and the Jan Strimple-helmed runway show redefined high style, literally.

He staged the show at the Jet 10 hangar in Addison, and even by luxe Dallas standards, the private planes and killer guest list were impressive. Not to mention the cool men's wear-inspired looks that rocked the runway.

Our favorites were the wide-leg pants and sheer blouses paired with chic vests and blazers, and the standout of the collection was a mod take on YSL's le smoking, with oversized buttons and softly rounded shape.

Spotted in the crowd: golf great Tommy Armour and brother Sandy, Yvonne Crum, Terri Provencal, Matthew Giese, Mina Chang, artist Kevin Fougerousse, Modern Luxury's Rachel Watkins (who also walked the runway), and model Atti Worku and family. Guests toasted Russell's final bow with Moet champagne and a well-deserved standing ovation.
