Richardson Ex-mayor and Developer Husband Are Free While They Await Sentencing for Bribery

The ex-mayor of Richardson and her developer husband who were just convicted of a bribery conspiracy will await their fate while free on bond, a federal judge has ruled. Mark Jordan, 52, will also have to wear an ankle monitor until he and Laura Jordan, 54, are sentenced later this year, the U.S. attorney's office said. Mark Jordan was taken into custody following Thursday's jury verdict convicting him and his wife on bribery and wire fraud charges. Prosecutors initially asked U.S. District Judge Amos L. Mazzant to hold Mark Jordan in detention. But during a hearing on Friday morning in Sherman, prosecutors and Mark Jordan's defense attorney reached an agreement to allow him to be released on bond while using an ankle monitor.
