Don’t be surprised or scared to see thousands of zombies lurching from bar to bar in Deep Ellum this weekend. They’ll be there to help … others, not just themselves.
Zombie Walk Dallas 2010 starts about 3:30 p.m. — or whenever the zombies are damn good and ready; who’s going to argue with a zombie? — Oct. 16 at the DART green line Deep Ellum Station. The event, for which about 4,000 people, if you can call them that, have registered, benefits the North Texas Food Bank. Donation bins for canned foods will be set up at the entrances of participating Deep Ellum eating and drinking establishments, according to PegasusNews.com.
There’s no particular format or plan, apparently. How would you create a plan for zombies? They pretty much do what zombies do. The undead will just wander about, oozing zombie goo, which wouldn’t be a bad name for a band, and emitting woeful zombie sounds, and head from bar to bar where they can drink zombie libations. Some bars and restaurants will cut the zombies from slack on drink prices and such.
If you meet one or more in a bar, just sit down and have a chat. They probably just want to pick your brain.
Zombie face painters will be set up at 2826 Arnetic to turn the living into the undead.
Go. What have you got to lose? You only die once.
