Chill Out in a Cave Without a Name

Temperatures have been in the triple digits for two weeks, so what if we told you there's a place in Texas that's 66 degrees year round?

We think a drive to Cave Without a Name near Boerne is the right prescription if you're sick of the heat.

The cave got its name in a local contest where a student said it should be called Cave Without a Name because it's "too pretty to have a name."

The cave in the heart of Hill Country is filled with stalactites and stalagmites as well as other really cool cave formations.

A guide will take you on a 60 minute tour of the six major "rooms" in the cave starting with a spiral staircase down the original sinkhole opening and ending at a subterranean stream.

There's also a gift shop and you can pan for fossils and "gems" -- which consists of you choosing a rock, you'll break it open to reveal the crystal formations inside.

Unfortunately it's about a five hour drive south, but if you strike out early we're pretty sure it'll be worth it.

Take your camera, you'll probably want pictures or video of this. If you do take picture send them to isee@nbcdfw.com or upload them here.
