Talk about your hot concert weekend -- you've got some tunes for every kind of music fan at the start of September.
Toby Keith and Brantley Gilbert: The latest entry into the Country Megaticket concert series brings country stars Toby Keith and Brantley Gilbert to Gexa Energy Pavilion at 7 p.m. We expect Keith is pretty excited about the stop, as he opens another I Love This Bar & Grill location in Dallas on the same day.
Lyle Lovett and His Large Band: Lovett heads to the Majestic Theatre on Friday for a show benefiting CitySquare, a human development organization that offers social services to benefit communities. The show starts at 8 p.m. but you might want to get there early -- we've been telling folks about this one for weeks. NBC 5 is a media sponsor for this event
Slash with Foxy Shazam: Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Slash has shredded for both Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver, all while wearing that iconic top hat. But we're also fans of the other name on the bill, Foxy Shazam. These guys have a front man that sounds like Freddie Mercury and an energetic live show that will compel you to get out of your seat. Show starts at 9 p.m. at the House of Blues.
Robert Earl Keen: This is Texas roots, ya'll. Keen's songwriting is infectious -- once you've heard one song, you'll want to hear it all. Luckily, he's at Billy Bob's this weekend for a 10:30 p.m. show. That should give you plenty of time to listen to his catalog on repeat.
Tyga: Rapper Tyga (that's not his real name, by the way) hits the Palladium Ballroom at 8 p.m. on Sunday. Tyga's collaborated with Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, and his cousin, Gym Class Heroes' Travie McCoy and netted a Grammy nomination back in 2010.
P.S. Though it doesn't start until Sept. 12, War Horse is coming to the AT&T Performing Arts Center -- and we're giving away opening night tickets. Click here to enter our sweepstakes before Sept. 10 (see why it's something to do this weekend?)
