Costume Contests Offer Big Money on Halloween

Duke's contest continues this weekend with thousands of dollars in prizes.

This weekend fans of the macabre, sexy or outrageous can win thousands of dollars in cash and prizes at one of the Metroplex's largest, and longest-running, costume contests.

The fun begins Thursday Oct. 30 at both Duke's Original Roadhouse locations, where partygoers can win $500 in cash and prizes all while chugging down $2 beers.  The fun is enhanced at the Bedford location where LIVE 105.3 FM will be broadcasting from the event.

Friday, Oct. 31 is the big payday where over $3,000 in cash and prizes will be handed out to the winners -- funded in part by $3 You-Call-It drink specials until 8 p.m.

Finally, on Saturday, an additional $500 in cash and prizes will be awarded as the contest draws to a close.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday, costumed revelers can compete in contests for the sexiest, scariest, funniest, most original and best overall costumes. But let's be reasonable, Duke's said costumes over 10 feet tall or 6 feet wide will not be permitted to enter the contest.

Contestants should arrive by 8 p.m. and judging is expected to begin at 9 p.m. Duke's is located at 4180 Belt Line Road in Addision and at 2250 Airport Freeway in Bedford.
