After 13 years, The Pour House is leaving its landmark downtown Fort Worth location -- the question is when.

The bar's owner, Eric Tschetter, said a lawsuit settled with the landord, XTO Energy, is requiring the popular downtown watering-hole to relocate by year's end.

After a 15-month search, Tschetter has a new location for The Pour House near downtown. The new spot will not be ready to open for several months and Tschetter is hoping he can negotiate with his current landlord to extend his lease until the new location is ready.

According to Tschetter, Joy Webster, of XTO, said there are no immediate plans for the building, yet Tschetter has been unable to get a response to his request for an extension on his lease.

If that isn't possible, Tschetter said he will have to lay off more than 40 employees.

"There are several reasons for me wanting to stay, but most importantly I want to keep my employees employed," said Tschetter. "We all know what it is like looking for a job in this economy."

Currently, The Pour House's last day of business in it's current location is Dec. 31, 2008.

UPDATE: Tschetter is moving to the West 7th development. More details here.
