Out and About

Head out to the Dallas Flea, Blue Yule at the MAC and Uptown Makeup in the West Village

ONE OF A KIND:  The first-ever Dallas Flea takes place today from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at South Side on Lamar.  With over 50 Texas-centric vendors offering everything from jewelry to furniture to cupcakes, admission is just $5 and the first 100 folks at the door will receive a free “flea” bag.  Click here to read up on all the juicy deets, then head to 1409 South Lamar in Dallas to shop ‘til you drop.

BLUE CHRISTMAS:  Since opening to the public in 1994, the McKinney Avenue Contemporary has established itself as a showcase for local and international artists in a wide range of disciplines.  The MAC’s annual Blue Yule party offers a unique opportunity to support this non-profit by nibbling blue popcorn, sipping “Mystery Blue Punch”, donning some “blue bling” and shopping for handmade ornaments.  A DJ will be on hand and there’s a silent auction too – and we hear you can even get your picture taken with a blue Madonna.  The party’s tonight from 5:30 - 7:30 and the cost is $20.  Head to 3120 McKinney Avenue for the festivities.

SHOW AND TELL:  Creating the perfect smokey, sultry eye to set off your holiday party look just got a lot easier with help from the experts at Uptown Makeup.  Stop in today from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. for bubbly, treats, makeovers and tutorials sponsored by Smashbox (note: two item purchase required for makeovers).  It’s all happening at 3699 McKinney Ave., #102 in Dallas’ West Village
