North Texas State Fair and Rodeo Bucks into Denton

It's rodeo time in Denton as the North Texas State Fair and Rodeo heads back to the North Texas Fairgrounds for their 84th year.

The nine-day fair runs from August 17-25, 2012, and will bring music, livestock, rodeo, and other attractions to Denton.

Country singers like Wade Bowen, Stoney LaRue, John Anderson, the Casey Donahew Band, and others are on the list for music acts on the "Budweiser Stage," but the "Bud Light Stage" has a few artists that catch our eye.

First, there's George Dunham and the Bird Dogs. Yeah, like George Dunham from KTCK-FM, The Ticket. Though we're no P-1s, it might be fun to see the radio voice sing and play guitar.

Then there's Justin McBride. Yeah, like the champion bull rider. We don't know if he can play a guitar as well as he can ride a bull (the guy did win two World Championships during 11 years of bull riding), but we're willing to find out.

A full schedule of events for the fair can be found at this link: 2012 North Texas State Fair and Rodeo Schedule

General admission to the fair is $15 for adults, $5 for children 7 to 12, and kids under six are free. Tickets are good for one time on any day of the fair, and concerts and rodeo events are free with gate admission.
