Food, friends, family, art, music and more. That’s what the Main Street Fort Worth Arts Festival is all about.
Celebrating 25 years of art and music on the streets of Fort Worth, the festival runs from Thursday through Sunday.
Ranked as the No. 1 arts festival in Texas, and third-largest arts festival in the country according to the Harris List and the Art Fair SourceBook, the festival is free for attendees and allows people to browse works from over 200 artists. With prices of art ranging from $50 to a few thousand, buying a quality piece of art that will fit within your budget is within your reach.
But if art isn’t really your thing, and you’re more interested in the DFW music scene, the festival has got your fix, too. With over 300 performances, you can stroll the streets of downtown and head to the festival’s three stages where you can jam out to rock, blues, or jazz, mostly preformed by local artists.
Culinary arts also make a splash at the festival, with wide variety of food ranging from gourmet hamburgers and bratwurst to turkey legs and funnel cakes. Nearly two dozen vendors will be stationed at the festival, with the Times Ten Cellars’ “Wine Experience” tent being the new, goody-ridden addition for 2010. The $30 seated tasting requires advance reservations and features four premium wines to tantalize your taste buds. And, because we all love some good gifts, each participant will take home a 19 oz. wine glass with the Fort Worth Arts Festival logo, a Times Ten Cellar six bottle carrier bag, and a take home bottle of a wine he or she wishes to select from the tasting.
Other major events at the festival include Off Main!, which celebrates on Fort Worth’s theater district and features films, seminars, and performances, and MAIN ST. Creates!, which features henna tattoos, a rock wall, face painting, and waxed roses, among others.
