Hit the Drive-In This Weekend

Has going to the movies in those big cineplexes with tons of people kind of lost it's appeal? Or do you prefer to stay at home with your 55-inch flat screen television, Blu-ray player and surround-sound system? Well it's time to get off the couch, get out and about, while going back in time just a bit.

The Galaxy Drive-In (yes drive-in) Theatre has been up an running in Ennis since December 2004. The theatre boasts four movie screens with a double feature on each screen every night, come rain or shine.  (unless the weather is really severe)

The drive-in was actually built from the ground up and was built to look like and operate much like the drive-in of the 50's.

The best part, you can relive your childhood, or start a new tradition, by listening to the movie with authentic vintage car speakers, you know the kind you hang on your car window. Now if you prefer, you can listen to the movie on your car radio system. Either way its a good time.

The box office and snack bar both open at 6 p.m. so get their early to get a good spot. And this may be the best part, Galaxy now has two 18-hole miniature golf courses so you can play a little mini golf before your movies start for a small additional charge.

Seeing the double feature won't cost you a fortune either, tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 5 to 11, children under 5 are free.
