The old scavenger hunt has gone high-tech with GPS geocaches and location-based check-ins over the past few years, but locals looking for prizes bigger than a discount at the local froyo spot should have their ears perk up at the following news.
SCVNGR, a location-based app for iPhone and Android, is joining with Dallas-based Samsung Mobile for a downtown Dallas challenge that could net you up to $10,000 this Saturday.
That big money is only for the grand prize winner, though Samsung's marketing folks tell us other electronic goodies will be among the prizes for participants in the free events.
