Essential Guide: Cinco de Mayo

We hope you're ready for queso, booze, and celebrating Mexican heritage. If not, here's some ideas to get your Cinco Celebrations in gear:

  • Bishop Arts District is hosting a "Wine Walk" event in honor of Cinco de Mayo. It runs from 6-9 tonight, and only costs $10 for a refillable logo glass. More details.
  • Bust out a sombrero at some of The Feast's picks for best Cinco de Mayo celebrations. Click here to see the list that includes deals at Primo's, La Grange, and Urban Taco (of course). More details.
  • Speaking of tacos, you'll want to check out this list of food-focused celebrations for the 5th of May, if only to find out which delicious restro is bringing in the mariachis. More details.
  • And if you love queso -- like really LOVE the stuff -- you might want to try Mattito's 2nd annual queso eating contest. Last year, a petitie female community manager won the contest by eating 2.8 pounds of the stuff. More details.
