Denton Kicks Off 11-Day Film Fest

Thin Line Film Festival highlights local talent

You can skip the Blockbusters for something with a more local flair in Denton this weekend.

The fifth annual Thin Line Film Festival, an international documentary film festival held in Denton, will feature Texas-only documentaries from Feb. 10-20.

The Festival kicks off on Friday with the premier of "Battle for Brooklyn," which follows activist Daniel Goldstein as he fights to keep his home and community from being demolished to make way for a professional basketball arena. The film, which was shortlisted for an Oscar for Best Documentary, will be shown at 8:00 p.m. at the Campus Theatre.

More than 80 films will be featured during the 11 day festival. For a complete list of films, locations and more information visit thinlinefilmfest.com.
