“Dallas” to Return for a Second Season

Filming will return to Dallas

The Ewings will be back on TNT for a second season of the rebooted show.

"Dallas has been a success for us on every level: pitch-perfect writing, smart directing and buzz-worthy performances by a new generation of stars and their iconic counterparts," said Michael Wright, president and head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). "With Dallas' top-flight ratings, robust growth through time-shifted viewing and the extensive online buzz, it's clear the Ewings of Southfork have once again captured the imagination of viewers.”

The Dallas Film Commission confirmed that the series would again use Southfork Ranch and other Dallas-area locations during the second seasons.

Southfork has been seeing a boom in visitors since the show started up again, so we can imagine that they're particularly pleased to hear J.R. will be back next year.

TV watchers have been keen to the return of the oil family, too -- the premiere netted 7.8 million viewers.
