Dallas Hotel Offers Free Pet Pictures With Santa

Photo sessions benefit Operation Kindness

Pet parents can do some awful stuff to their little four-legged wards, particularly around holidays.

They dress up the canines and felines in festive costumes -- some affixed with bells that have to freak even the calmest canine -- and trot them out to public humiliation for all the world and its brother to see.

Believe me, I know.

Just such an occasion takes place this weekend at Kimpton's Hotel Palomar Dallas, which, by the way, is a pet-friendly place. From 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, hotel guests and, well, any-ol'-body can bring their pets to the lobby and take a free photo of said pet with Santa Claus, or Santa Paws, in this case.

The picture-perfect event also serves as a fundraiser for Operation Kindness, and there's nothing wrong with that.

In other pet-related news, the promotional missive announcing the pet-Santa photos included a line about hotel accommodations for people and their pets at 25 percent off "the best available room rate" when prospective guests enter the code "KORA" to make reservations.

As they say in the advertising world, "Ah, there's the belly rub."
