‘Christmas Delights' at Fort Worth Parade of Lights

A parade and carefully orchestrated tree lighting dazzled in Sundance Square

Christmas Delights, this year's theme for the annual Chesapeake Energy Parade Of Lights in Fort Worth did just that, thrilling kids and adults alike.

"I think the lights are awesome, the weather is terrific," said Nalu Penny of Grapevine. "So it can’t be better night over here with the kids."

The parade featured more than a 100 floats, marching bands and other entries - all illuminated by 500,000 lights.

"It’s wonderful," said Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price, who rode in the parade for the first time as mayor. "It’s a perfect night and it couldn’t be better. Everybody in Fort Worth is friendly and having a great time."

For many lining the streets of downtown Fort Worth, the annual parade is a family tradition to ring in the holidays.

"It wouldn’t be the holidays if we didn't come here," says Gume Flores of Fort Worth. "It just wouldn't be the same. Just got to be here, just beautiful."

The big moment came when more than 4,000 lights on the Sundance Square Christmas Tree came on and 18 buildings in downtown Fort Worth illuminated for the holidays with coordinated LED lights.
