Get Wings, Get Gas, Not in That Order

Hooters, Texaco team to benefit Russ Martin police, fire fund

Five gallons of free gas sounds pretty appealing. A Hooters girl pumping those 5 gallons of free gas might be irresistible.

This irresistible force moves and shakes this evening during a promotion to raise funds for the Russ Martin Show Listeners Foundation, which benefits the survivors of fallen police and fire fighters.

Hooters girls will man the gas pumps, if that’s not contradictory, and give away five gallons of gas to each of the first 97 drivers — Martin airs on KEGL-FM, 97.1, so get it? — who show up at the Texaco station, Central Expressway at Highway 380 in McKinney, starting at 5 p.m. Friday.

The girls also will collect donations to the Martin fund, and benefactors can have their photos snapped with Hooters girls and Martin’s replica General Lee during the after-party at the Hooters location adjacent to the gas station.

The after-party also includes 50 cent wings — not sure if that’s for a single wing or a plate of the little chicken parts, but who cares, it’s Hooters girls — drink specials, your host for the evening, Clo, of the Russ Martin Show, and maybe, just maybe Russ his-own-bad-self.

Get gas, buy wings — there’s a little reversal of fortune for you.
