9/5-9/7: Labor Day Weekend

ROAD TRIP DIARIES: Denton's Robert Gomez and Anna-Lynne Williams (Trespassers William) of Seattle hid out in Marfa's desert, recorded in a rented adobe house for a month, and came home with an album. Hear what resulted from the collaboration and examine the seeds from which Ormonde grew at Dan's Silverleaf. The West Texas-born ambient-folk duo headlines with drums and keys joining; Gomez plays solo and Williams' project Lotte Kestner's on the bill. Saturday, 10PM.

BIG MEN: Betty's baby should drop any minute, Don's face is about three inches from Roger's fist and from the looks of last week's preview, Sterling Cooper could be losing half of it's contested head-of-accounts team. If you've already planned your Sunday around Mad Men Season 3, Episode 4, why not head to the Angelika Dallas and watch it on the big screen for free? Sunday, seating at 8:30 PM.

DON'T FRET, BABIES: The "World's Largest Honky-Tonk" is helping the Earth's tiniest humans on Labor Day. Wade Bowen and Jason Boland are among the guitar-totin' country artists at Pickin' for Preemies, an acoustic show at Billy Bob's benefiting Cook Children's Hospital. Find tickets here. Monday, 5PM.
