AFTER THE FIRE: Noah Haidle's "Vigils" follows a fireman's widow as she clings to her husband's memory, storing his soul in a box and staving off suitors who try to avert her attention. FLORIDA IN ARLINGTON: Richard Florida, urban theorist and author of The Rise of the Creative Class, a book passed out to city council members by at least one DFW area mayor, gives his two cents on the Barnett Shale and the Cowboys Stadium at the University of Texas at Arlington as part of its Mavericks Speakers Series.
