9/25: Old Flames, New Arlington and a '70s Flick

AFTER THE FIRE: Noah Haidle's "Vigils" follows a fireman's widow as she clings to her husband's memory, storing his soul in a box and staving off suitors who try to avert her attention. Kitchen Dog Theater is making more of a staging of the play by donating $10 of each $25 ticket sold to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Find tickets here. 8PM.

FLORIDA IN ARLINGTON: Richard Florida, urban theorist and author of The Rise of the Creative Class, a book passed out to city council members by at least one DFW area mayor, gives his two cents on the Barnett Shale and the Cowboys Stadium at the University of Texas at Arlington as part of its Mavericks Speakers Series. Admission is free, but you'll need tickets for this productive argument. 8PM.

MAUDE AT MIDNIGHT: You've waited all week for this. Get cozy with a Cat Stevens-scored, thoughtfully creepy film -- not a horror movie, not yet -- as the fall day turns over at Inwood Theatre. Harold and Maude screens at midnight for $8.50.
