9/23: Brothers On Fire and Fashion Mayhem

ROUND UP THE FAM: If you’re a radio listener then you know that “Use Somebody” was played to the max on every possible station. Funny thing is that the single was actually off the third album from Kings of Leon. The Tennessee natives have been playing since the early millennium and are a family act – with all members related in some way. A modern day Brady Bunch with a band name that pays homage to father Leon, are in high demand to collaborate with other artists seen in their latest album “Come Around Sundown.” Tonight the Kings of Leon clan plays at the Superpages.com Center in Dallas featuring two-person band Black Keys and The Whigs at 7:30 p.m.

FASHION FIX: It’s a fashionable event that honors style and encourages that fashionista within to indulge in a bit of spending. The Plaza at Preston Center celebrate its third annual Plaza Style 2010. The event benefits non-profit organization The Fashionistas – fashion enthusiasts devoted to raising scholarship money for aspiring fashion design students. The event will showcase the latest fall trends, feature a runway fashion show created with gear from Plaza stores (like Tootsies, POME, MAL MALOU), and a silent auction – complete with cocktail party. BABY BOUNCE BASICS: Atmos Energy presents an afternoon of bonding with the newest addition to your family at the Dallas Public Library Bookmarks branch located in NorthPark Center. The Baby Bounce Basics afternoon encourages early learning for the little ones with interactive music, nursery rhymes and story time. The library event is intended for moms/caregivers and infants up to 24 months old. So get out of the house and spend a little time teaching the little tyke something new at the library from 12:30 to 1 p.m.
