MONDAY NIGHT LIGHTS: SMU alum turned New England Patriot turned ESPN commentator Craig James is at Legacy Books in Plano to promote his book about the all-American, color-coded college football season. He'll sign Game Day: A Rollicking Journey to the Heart of College Football at 7PM.

BIG PLATE BLUES: Have a bite -- or a Cuban sandwich with fries -- at Mambo's Tapas Cantina in Fort Worth, where area bluesman Hash Brown gets down every Monday. Music starts at 8PM.

SWEETER TREATS: Today begins a benevolent week of baking at Bread Winners Cafe and Bakery in Uptown. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month, and cupcakes decorated especially for CancerCare for Kids are on sale with a portion of the proceeds going to that organization. Find out here how to host your own Cupcakes for a Cause bake sale or stop by Breadwinners today until 10PM.
