    COUNTING DOWN: If you were going to skip the openers at tonight's Counting Crows gig, you may want to reconsider. The night will open with Adam Duritz and company joining the members of Augustana in a full-on assault of the ears as part of the Big Top-themed Saturday Night Rebel Rockers Traveling Circus and Medicine Show. Nokia Live, 7PM.

    ABRACADABRA ADDISON: Nobody knows what's coming out of the hat at the Addison Improv, when area magicians use the mic and the wand to entertain thrill-seekers. Or, when comedians use illusion to shroud their bad jokes. The Ta-Da Comedy and Magic Night runs the first Tuesday of each month. 8PM.

    DRINK AND DRAG: What do Station 4's Rose Room dames do when the club is closed on Tuesday nights? We've seen a few decked out down to the handbag at JRs for the Potluck Casserole Show, dancing on the small stage near the staircase to cheers from a wild party of followers. For first-timers, the drinks are cheap -- even premiums are $4 open to close. 11PM.
