ONE MORE TIME: Remember that year you got extend your birthday into a full week long celebration because of calendar conflicts and so forth? Well that was a lucky year for you, just as this is a lucky year for all Americans. The ultimate Independence Day encore gets underway Monday (July 5) at Fair Park for families, firework fanatics and anyone wishing to extend America’s 234th b-day celebration. Before the skies light up at 9:30 p.m., enjoy “dancing water” shows at the Esplanade Fountain at 6, 6:30, 7, 7:30 and 8 p.m., plus a 45-minute concert by the Dallas Wind Symphony at 8:30 p.m. Concessions will be sold, or bring a picnic.

This one should be a real treat, too. He'll even have a bunch of free swag to hand out--tickets to upcoming Granada shows, wristbands for the Dallas Observer Music Awards Showcase and sips off his beers. If you've never been down to a Local Hang night you might end up finding yourself surprised at sheer volume of amazing music coming out of the metroplex at the moment, and saying it's a good time to be in Dallas.
